Check out our new helmets page if you are searching for a helmet, for your new or used motorbike or scooter

We have decided to give our reviews page a revamp - rather than supplying you with information provided by the brands themselves, we are putting bikes and scooters to the test ourselves by letting our mechanic (our own personal Stig) give his imput as and when he test rides them.

But we would also like your imput, positive or negative on any of the models currenty for sale on our website for us to publish on the reviews page and give customers actual owners opinons. Simply send your review to gemma@scootercrazy.com. We'd also love to hear any stories / see any pictures of you out and about for us to share with the world!

Vespa:

Vespa GTS 300 Super Review

What the Mechanic has to say: I'm a sportsbike fan myself so wouldn't usually think of owning a scooter, but if I was to pick any this would be the one! Extremely responsive off the mark and really easy to handle. A bit bouncy when you start approaching higher speeds but it is minor compared to the other scooters I have ridden.

What the Salesman has to say: Understandably this is one of the first scooters that people go to when they walk in our showroom as it looks stunning. There are plenty of accessories available as well as matching helmets. The only downside to those helmets is that they don't actually fit in the under seat storage! Deliberate mistake perhaps to encourage the purchase of a topbox? But to be honest, the bike looks even more impressive with a topbox so it has it's plus sides. The Vespa flag or Mini Momo helmet will fit under, as well as some of the Nexx helmets.
The Vespa GTS Super isn't the cheapest on the shopfloor, but the Vespa range retains it's value like no other and the quality of craftsmanship is clear to see.

Vespa LX 50 Review

What the Mechanic has to say: I've test ridden many of these at my time here at Scooter Crazy. They're not the fastest of scooters, but then they're not supposed to be. They handle quite well and are easy to manoevre so ideal for lady riders (they tried to get me out on the Rosa Chic....I won't repeat my answer but it's safe to say that the riding of any pink vehicles is now left to my work colleagues!). Although it's quite a chunky bike you can feel the effects of potholes so the suspension could be improved slightly but other than that the quality is typical of Vespa.
If you want something sport then go for an Aprilia, but if you're a Vespa fan this is a great starting point.

What the Salesman has to say: The Vespa LX is one of our most popular scooters, particular during the summer months. Unlike the Super, the LX is the complete opposite and has plenty of storage and comes in several colours to suit a variety of tastes. As well as avid Vespa fans, this scooter also receives a lot of interest from young female riders as it is safe as well as stylish. A full chrome kit and a topbox is available for this model as well (getting a sales pitch in even on a review!)

Vespa LX 125 Review

What the Mechanic has to say: Very similar to the smaller engined version, again the suspension is a little soft but the bike is ideal for easy commuting so it shouldn't be a problem - unless you intend on going off road! Corners and switches really well but suspension is a tad soft. You may want to get the gel seat if using for long journeys to improve comfort.

What the Salesman has to say: A step up from the 50cc version, for those who simply cannot stay at 30mph or less. Same great features and same great style.

Aprilia

Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 Review

What the mechanic has to say: We're getting more into my kind of bikes now! Sounds great, looks great and picks up speed well with a top speed of 135mph. It's light with good handling. Corners and switches really well but suspension is a tad soft. Top notch brakes gives you the confidence to give it that extra bit of oomph!. You may want to get the gel seat if using for long journeys to improve comfort.

What the Salesman has to say: Without question this is one of our best selling higher end Aprilias. Fantastic value for money, this bike has only ever received praise from our customers and for those looking for a 750 Super without braking the bank, this is the one for you!

We are also doing the same for our clothing ranges - Check out the clothing reviews page.
